Flipboard‘s self-titled iPad app aggregates your lame-ass tweets and emo facebook status updates into magazine-like spreads. Will its print sensibilities completely disguise the fact that you typically have nothing more to contribute than “omg i am in line at DMV now lmao”? Download Flipboard today and find out for yourself!

Pure genius. Square (comprised of both software and a physical dongle) is completely free and facilitates anyone accepting a credit card payment via iPhone or iPad. From Jack Dorsey, the creator of Twitter, Square makes its profit via charging for each transaction (2.75%), plus 15 cents. Not too shabby at all. The escort industry rejoices.

The iPhone app addLib, as described by WOW, “mixes the Grid System, a fractal theory, the golden ratio and the Facial Recognition System, and then creates graphic design. It seems the layout is made at random, but it comes from the rigorous calculated system.” So in short, it takes your ugly-ass photos and attempts to lesson their horrific nature via embellishments of typography, form, and placement. Get it via iTunes now.

Sega’s (official) Ultimate Genesis is poised to hit the App Store, and thusly rock your pathetic little world. A virtual console that runs on the iPhone, it will allow in-app purchases of old Genesis favorites, including Sonic the Hedgehog, Golden Axe, Ecco the Dolphin, and Shining Force. Many more titles to come.
The first GTA title for the iPhone, Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars, is now available from Rockstar. As seen in the video above, the implementation of touch screen controls is quite nicely integrated into the familiar GTA experience. Get it while it’s hot for $10 iTunes Store.

Pocket Heat is an iPhone app that turns your device into a portable hand/extremity warmer. Via ramping up your iPhone’s processor usage to 100%, it warms the entire phone, and your frosty little mitts (sounds perfectly safe). Personally, I’m more fond of just stuffing my MacBook Pro down my pants; each to their own.

If you thirst to know what happened to Katie at the end of Paranormal Activity (not if you saw the ending where she was shot to hell, obviously — PROTIP: they buried her ass), Paranormal Activity: The Search for Katie continues the story. This direct-to-digital movie sequel is written by Scott Lobdell, of Uncanny X-Men fame.

In a stunning revelation, the iDroid iPhone app was rejected by Apple. Submitted by the creator of the Beer Pong game, Swavv Apps attempted to sneak what amounted to nothing more than a giant Motorola Droid ad through the Apple censors.

Star Wars: Trench Run is now available for iPhone at the iTunes store. Now, while perched on your toilet in the morning, deliver a couple proton torpedoes to their target! Also while you’re in there, you can reenact Luke’s famous flight through the titular Death Star trench with the game I just mentioned.

The new WordPress app for iPhone overall sports a more intuitive interface, better comments management, and numerous bug fixes. The app has been out for a couple weeks now, but I waited to write it up until it actually worked. On the program’s release day, I couldn’t do some basic things, like say… successfully add any of my sites. All seems good since I upgraded the WP installs to v.2.8.6, however.
