Transformers: War for Cybertron

While previous Transformers-based games have sucked Energon by and large, Transformers: War for Cybertron looks to finally end that streak. Taking place on planet Cybertron long before the machines came to Earth, the game puts you in control of both the Autobots and Decepticons in different campaigns. Play online or with a fellow nerd via split screen.

Batman: Arkham Asylum is one of the better games I’ve played on the PS3. The forthcoming Game of the Year Edition not only includes all six downloadable content challenge maps, but also the capability to play the game in 3D via TriOviz 3D (and of course ships with 3D glasses).

Steam for Mac

Via a series of brilliant teasers sent out to various Mac news sites, Valve Software has been slowly intimating at their forthcoming release of Steam for Mac OS X. From Valve’s distributed imagery, games like Half-Life, Team Fortress 2, Left 4 Dead, and Portal would all be on tap. The Game Developers Conference next week could be the venue for an iron-clad confirmation.

Today BioWare announced the first expansion for its critically acclaimed 2009 RPG of the Year, Dragon Age: Origins. Known as Dragon Age: Origins – Awakening (available March 16th, and for pre-order now), the expansion features a fresh storyline, new area to explore, raised level cap, 5 new party members, and loads of other nerdy shit I can’t wait to get my hands on.

darksiders

My all-time bff comic book artist, Joe Madureira (Uncanny X-Men, Battle Chasers, Ultimates Vol. 3, etc.), is the creative force behind the forthcoming Darksiders title (January 5th, PS3 and Xbox 360). The game takes its inspiration from The Apocalypse and battle of Armageddon, with the player taking the role of “War”, one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.

psp_comics

Digital Comics are available for PSP owners, enabling you to read your favorite books (Marvel being the biggest available publisher) on the go. While the current catalog is still growing, there are still some classics worth a re-read available now.

video_game_minimalism

These are some clever minimalist recreations of popular video game characters from infinitecontinues. You can even get ‘em on a tee shirt, if you’re so inclined.

dragonage_mac

Winner of both Best PC Game and Best RPG for 2009, Dragon Age: Origins is now coming to the Mac (click here to pre-order)! I’ve just started my second play-through of the game via Boot Camp; Bioware consistently does amazing work.

Is that an NES Light Gun in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me? (hopefully the latter) The Retro Mini X can take your old NES cartridges like a champ, enabling awkward-looking portability, and full game play via its 2.5″ LCD TFT Screen. If you’d truly rather kick it old school, the system includes composite (NTSC) video/audio out cables for playing on a TV.

megabosses

Topless Robot posted a list of their top 9 suggestive Mega Man boss names, and it’s quite humorous. I don’t know how Wad Man or Reacharound Man didn’t make the list (seemed like slam dunks to me). Damn, those were some good battles.
